DOT Advances $150 Million Grant for Port of Entry
  The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has finalized a $150 million grant for a major infrastructure project along the San Diego-Baja California border. The funding, part of the Infrastructure for Rebuilding America (INFRA) program, will go toward constructing a new port of entry and toll road at Otay Mesa East, a critical region for freight and commercial transport between the United States and Mexico. Announced on April 15 by DOT Secretary Sean Duffy, the grant is part of the department’s initiative to clear a backlog of over 3,200 grants announced during the Biden administration but never fulfilled.
