  • Crawford Co. Administration Building reopens after water damage
WIZMnews.com The public can once again use the Crawford County Administration Building after an incident last month where a broken fire sprinkler caused a lot of damage. Early on the morning on June 19, shortly after 1 a.m., a piece of fire suppression equipment malfunctioned, which caused a third-floor sprinkler to begin spraying water on the floor. By the time it was shut off 45 minutes later, water had fallen through all the floors and into the basement. The excess water damaged a number of electrical systems in the building. Crawford County Sheriff Dale McCullick said that although the building is open, some offices are still under construction. The post Crawford Co. WIZMnews.com KERRVILLE, Texas (AP) — Camp Mystic says it is “grieving the loss” of 27 campers and counselors as the search continued Monday for victims of catastrophic Texas flooding over the Fourth of July holiday weekend. The statement adds another layer of heartbreak to the devastating flooding that sent a wall of water through the century-old summer camp. “We have been in communication with local and state authorities who are tirelessly deploying extensive resources to search for our missing girls,” the camp said in a statement posted on its website. “We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support from community, first responders, and officials at every level.” With more rain on the way, the risk of life-threatening flooding was still high in central Texas on Monday even as crews search urgently for the missing following a holiday weekend deluge that killed more than 80 people.… ...[TheTopNews] Read More.

It was the first of six visits planned this season by the Serenade, of the American Queen cruise line. Only three visits by big boats are now scheduled for July at Riverside Park. • Riverfest wraps up successful 2025 festival
WIZMnews.com Although Riverfest officially ended on Saturday night, Riverside Park was a busy place on Sunday morning as dozens of volunteers worked to clean up after the festival.   Rows of picnic tables are ready to move out on Sunday, July 6 after Riverfest. Riverfest President DJ Olbrys said they began work in the park about 6 a.m. and should have all the tents, tables, and trailers out of the park by late afternoon.   Riverfest wouldn’t be possible without the volunteers, he said.  “We have hundreds of volunteers that come down and help set it up. It takes about four to five days for set up and then one day just to tear it all down. Without them, we couldn’t have Riverfest,” Olbrys said.  The weather was a concern, he said, but it didn’t stop people from coming down to the park.… ...[TheTopNews] Read More.
