‘Oh, Good God!’ Megyn Kelly Gobsmacked By Mark Halperin’s Forecast of GOP ...

Megyn Kelly was stunned by journalist Mark Halperin’s bleak forecast for Republicans in the midterm elections, exclaiming, “Oh, good God!” as he laid out just how badly he believes things could go. Just last Friday, Halperin fired off a warning message to the GOP on social media, writing in part about President Donald Trump, “The wheels are coming off for a political figure who is swimming against the tide of a Blue tsunami as big as Connecticut.” He joined The Megyn Kelly Show on Monday, where he was asked about the “torrent of upset” sparked by his initial cautionary words. “Anyone who has got any sources in Republican politics knows that this is the state of play right now,” Halperin explained, adding that 45 Republican strategists have since contacted him after he invited anyone who disagreed with his assessment to reach out — and all either agreed with his reporting or told him he had actually understated how dire the situation was for the party. “Oh my lord,” Kelly uttered. “Give it to us straight. How bad is it?” Emphasizing that the GOP still holds a financial advantage over Democrats, Halperin added, “The president could start driving messages that are helpful, as opposed to unhelpful messages like, ‘I love data centers,’ and ‘I love AI.’ If that happens, maybe things will change, but right now I’d say Democrats will pick up at least 25 House seats, net, and at least six Senate seats, net.” “Oh good, God,” interjected Kelly. “Could be bigger,” Halperin continued. “That will get you called full of sh*t every time by Chris LaCivita,” Kelly said, referencing pushback from Trump’s 2024 co-campaign manager over Halperin’s Friday social media post and subsequent opinion column. “Because those are awful numbers, and now you’re talking about that’s more than a Blue wave.
