La Crosse Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a suspect in a stabbing that happened over the weekend. Late Saturday night just after 11 p.m., officers went to the 100 block of North 3rd Street and found an adult victim with injuries. The person was taken to a La Crosse hospital for treatment. The suspect, identified as Paul D. Thomas, Jr., had fled the scene. A statement from police said their initial investigation indicates this is an isolated incident. They continue to look for Thomas. “Our officers worked tirelessly throughout the high-demand Oktoberfest weekend to manage dozens of simultaneous calls for service,” said La Crosse Police Chief Shawn Kudron. “We are now turning to our community to help us locate Mr. Thomas who is responsible for this violent act.” Anyone with information on Thomas’ location is asked to contact the La Crosse Police Department at 608-782-7575.
