A suspect is in custody following a stabbing Wednesday morning that sent a woman to the hospital. According to Westby Police Chief Scott Stuber, Vernon County dispatch received a call around 9 a.m. Wednesday, regarding a female victim admitted to the Emplify Health emergency room in La Crosse with multiple stab wounds. The victim is currently in stable condition. Police say the suspect has been arrested and is awaiting formal charges. Authorities note that this was an isolated incident, there is no danger to the public and the investigation is ongoing.
