The homicide trial of Josie Dikeman begins in La Crosse, with opening statements on Tuesday from the prosecution and defense. The prosecution has told jurors about Alexavier’s multiple injuries, and said Dikeman has claimed the death was her fault. The defense has argued that the abuse was caused by the boy’s father, Derek Pedrin. Three weeks have been set aside in Judge Elliott Levine’s court for the case, meaning the trial could last until the middle of May.
