  • Alumni of Pam Bondi’s Law School Threaten to Cut Off Donations If School Doesn...
Tom Williams/CQ Roll Call via AP Images Alumni of Stetson University College of Law, where Attorney General Pam Bondi received her law degree, are threatening to cut off donations if the school refuses to denounce her for her handling of the Epstein files, specifically her performance during a recent congressional hearing. After mounting pressure — including from his fellow Republicans — President Donald Trump signed a law last November to release the files related to deceased child sex predator Jeffrey Epstein and his girlfriend and accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell with a deadline of Dec. 19. The law required a wide release of millions of documents, photos, videos, and other files, with redactions limited to victims’ names and other identifying information. The Department of Justice failed to meet that deadline, and since then, there have been additional releases of files that have revealed additional powerful people who were in communication with Epstein, thousands of mentions of Trump, and controversial failures to redact victims’ names and nude images. Congressional committees have continued to investigate the missed redactions, documents that have been removed from the files, and others that still have not been disclosed, issuing subpoenas to prominent people mentioned in the files and DOJ officials all the way up to Bondi. Bondi’s testimony at a February hearing with the House Judiciary Committee was widely viewed as a disaster, drawing sharp criticism even from the right. Then, on Wednesday evening, congressional Democrats on the House Oversight Committee stormed out of a meeting with Bondi, accusing her of stonewalling them and failing to comply with the subpoena. Bondi was born in Tampa and earned her law degree in 1990 from Stetson. The private law school is located in Gulfport, along Florida’s Gulf Coast and was founded in 1900. Bondi is one of Stetson’s most famous alumnae and gave the graduation commencement speech in 2013, while she was Florida Attorney General. Last month, “nearly 400” Stetson Law alumni, including three former state judges and a former county commissioner, signed a letter to the dean and board of trustees demanding a response from their alma mater regarding Bondi’s handling of the Epstein files, according to a report by the Tampa Bay Times. In the letter, the undersigned alumni express their “grave concern about the conduct of one of our most prominent graduates,” saying that it “should be a source of profound pride” to have a Stetson grad who “ascends to the office… [TheTopNews] Read More.

  • ‘What Do You Mean?!’ Tucker Carlson Loses It on Interviewer Over Israel Ques...
Tucker Carlson grew frustrated with an interviewer whose questions he repeatedly challenged. On Thursday, The Economist released a nearly hour-long interview with the former Fox News host, who has become a leading conservative voice against the Iran war, as well as continued unconditional aid to Israel. Although 77% of Republicans say they support bombing Iran, there have been several high-profile spats over the war and Israel in right-wing media. In the Economist interview, Editor-in-Chief Zanny Minton Beddoes asked Carlson about his criticisms of the Israeli government and whether the country has a “right to exist”: MINTON BEDDOES: You are critical of the government of Israel. Do you believe in Israel’s right to exist? Would you consider yourself a Zionist in that narrow definition? CARLSON: What does that mean, a right to exist? MINTON BEDDOES: The existence of the political state of Israel. CARLSON: But it has a right. What does that mean? MINTON BEDDOES: That you think it should continue in its existence as a state right now. So you do not agree with Iran, for example. CARLSON: Let me just ask, since you asked me the question, it’s fair for me to get you to define the term so I can answer it. You’ve asked two questions. The first was, do you believe Israel is a right to exist? And the second question was, do you believe Israel should continue to go on as a nation-state? And those are very different questions. So, I often hear the phrase– MINTON BEDDOES: Having been created as a political entity in 1948– CARLSON: Does it have a right to exist? Is that what you’re asking? MINTON BEDDOES: I don’t want to get hung up on the right to– should it continue to exist. That’s what, that’s how I define narrowly– CARLSON: Because the phrase you used was devised by the Israeli government, of course. Does it have a right to exist? And so my question to you would be, what does that mean? MINTON BEDDOES: Why don’t you answer my question? It’s a very simple question. CARLSON: I don’t know what your question is. Are you asking, does it have the right to exists or do I want it to exist? Do I seek its destruction? MINTON BEDDOES: Fine. Answer it that way. CARLSON: Well, of course I don’t seek its destruction. I’ve already said, as you know, because I said it… [TheTopNews] Read More.

  • Trump Declares, ‘I Think We’ve Won’ – Despite Ongoing Mideast Turmoil
President Donald Trump boldly declared that he believes the U.S. has “won” the war on Iran, despite ongoing airstrikes across the region, as well as the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. On Feb. 28, the U.S. and Israel began bombing Iran, which responded by firing missiles and drones at Israel, U.S. military targets in the region, and oil facilities. Iran also closed the Strait of Hormuz, through which 20% of the world’s oil flows. Trump has asked/demanded U.S. allies send their navies to help reopen the strait, but has gotten no takers. Last week, the president announced the U.S. military “totally obliterated every military target” on Kharg Island, which processes 90% of Iran’s oil exports. The island’s oil infrastructure was left intact, but Trump added that if Iran does not reopen the Strait of Hormuz, he will “reconsider this decision.” On Friday, Trump spoke with reporters outside the White House and said the strait will eventually “open itself.” More notably, he declared victory – sort of. “I think we’ve won,” the president said. “We’ve knocked out their navy, their air force. We’ve knocked out their anti-aircraft, we’ve knocked out everything. We’re roaming free from a military standpoint. All they’re doing is clogging up the strait. But from a military standpoint, they’re finished.” Later on Friday, the president said on Truth Social that he is “considering winding down” the war, though thousands of U.S. Marines are headed to the region for a potential ground operation. Also, the Department of Defense is reportedly seeking $200 billion in supplemental funding for the war. The day before, Trump made similar remarks that were ill-timed, to say the least. “We’ve obliterated their navy,” Trump said on Thursday. “We’ve obliterated their– just about everything there is to obliterate, including leadership. The navy’s gone. Their air force is gone. Their anti-aircraft equipment is gone. We’re flying wherever we want. We have nobody even shooting at us.” Shortly before the president made those remarks, CNN reported that a U.S. F-35 fighter jet made an emergency landing after reportedly being hit by Iranian fire.
