Fox News reporter Grady Trimble asked Republican Senate candidate Ashley Hinson if President Donald Trump’s about-face on visiting Iowa meant that her campaign was in trouble. Trump revived the rally in Dubuque, Iowa, plus one in Salina, Kansas, after a reporter asked if he cancelled because he was “sick of traveling.” “There was some back and forth over the last 24 hours about this Trump rally,” Trimble said. “It was on, then it wasn’t. Now it’s back on. You campaigned with him, I think it was a little over a week ago, here in Iowa. What do you think President Trump brings in the final days before the election?” “I think first and foremost he’s spotlighting how important Iowa is,” Hinson answered. “We have to hold this U.S. Senate seat. We have to get people out to vote. The future of our country depends on it. And, obviously, you look at the issues here in Iowa — we have to drive prices down for the people who feed and fuel the world. We have to make the American dream more affordable and attainable. That means by addressing housing and child care and the issues Iowans families are facing. I’m ready and equipped to do that. Sullivan to challenge incumbent Republican Senator Dan S. Sullivan. Peltola denied knowing about the alleged effort, dismissing the reporting as a “distraction.” The Justice Department issued fresh grand jury subpoenas as part of its investigation, according to the Associated Press and Alaska’s Republican Governor Mike Dunleavy has also ordered a state investigation into possible election law violations. President Donald Trump has called for Peltola’s prosecution, while his administration has filed a lawsuit seeking to prevent Alaska from certifying the election if the incumbent loses by fewer votes than the rival Sullivan receives. Dershowitz argued that prosecutors would not need to establish that the alleged operation successfully influenced voters. “The conspiracy doesn’t require an unlawful result. And even if there is no impact on the election, the conspiracy has already occurred,” he said. “That is, people have gotten together and agreed to violate the voting rights of Alaska citizens by misleading and defrauding them.
