  • Republican Senator Apologizes for Iran School Strike as Trump Blames Enemy: ‘I...
While President Donald Trump blames Iran for bombing its own school, which led to more than 175 deaths, Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) has a different idea, offering an apology on CNN. On Tuesday’s The Arena, Kasie Hunt asked Kennedy about speaking up the day before about the potential of the U.S. being behind a bombing that killed 175 people. A newly released video pointed blame towards an American missile this week for the strike. Trump has maintained that Iran is to blame. “You actually talked to NBC News last night about that strike on the girls’ school and you said it was terrible. We made a mistake. I’m just so sorry that it happened. Why did you feel like it was important to say that?” Hunt asked Kennedy. Kennedy admitted the ultimate investigation may prove him wrong, but he believes a U.S. strike was behind the school incident. He stressed, however, that it wasn’t intentional as that is “the sort of thing Russia does.” “I mean, we’re investigating, but I’m not going to hide behind that. I think that it was a terrible, terrible mistake,” he said. The senator explained: I think it’s the truth. I mean, we’re investigating, but I’m not going to hide behind that. I think that it was a terrible, terrible mistake. The investigation may prove me wrong, I hope so. The kids are still dead. But I think was a horrible, horrible mistake. I wish it hadn’t happened. I’m sorry it happened. I can assure you it wasn’t intentional. That’s the sort of thing Russia does. We don’t do that. You know, I don’t see any other possible explanation. And when you make a mistake, you ought to admit it. Most people understand no one’s perfect, but I don’t think our men and women who are fighting for us did it intentionally. I’ll never believe that. • Fox News Captures Israeli Missiles Intercepting Attacks Live On Air
Fox News correspondent Nate Foy reported from Tel Aviv on Tuesday as Israeli air defense missiles intercepted a wave of incoming Iranian strikes, with live coverage capturing the sound of explosions from successful interceptions. Laura Ingraham interrupted former Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal officer Tom Sauer’s discussion of U.S. operations in the Strait of Hormuz to speak to Foy as air raid sirens began in Tel Aviv. Foy described the ongoing wave of strikes as the sirens sounded, as the correspondent heard and saw interceptions that were not at first captured on camera. “I do actually– I just saw an interception over here to my left. Sometimes it takes a few seconds to hear the explosion after the siren turns off,” said Foy. “As you can hear those sirens in the distance again, because this has been a wave, as we hear some explosions, Laura, in the distance, this has been a wave here.” He continued: Right before our first report on your show, I mentioned the– as we hear several explosions now– we heard of incoming Iranian ballistic missile fire into central Israel. Then there was a second wave into southern Israel. Now Tel Aviv. So this appears to be quite a sizeable wave coming from Iran. We heard the president and several U.S. officials say that the regime’s ballistic missile capabilities are only 10% of what they were at the beginning of this war, but you can see that the regime still does possess the capability of striking offensively. Of course, the Iranian made Shahed drones are even more difficult. This, right now, is a ballistic missile threat. The way that it works is we get a prealert on the phone, and then a few minutes later, this happens. The sirens go off. And then you can see that some people continue driving on the street. A lot of people, most people find shelter. They go into bomb shelters. This is unfortunately every day life in Israel. Frey then directed the car to a new wave of interceptions, showing the lights of missiles as they soared over the city. “It has been for years, for really the entirety of the country, but especially since the war has started as– let’s see if we can show this one, Ben. We will avoid any landmarks here, but you can see some outgoing and right behind me, wow, we got quite a few… [TheTopNews] Read More.

  • ‘That’s a Pretty Big Mistake!’ Chris Hayes Scolds Trump Administration Ove...
MS NOW’s Chris Hayes offered an incredulous reaction on Tuesday after a Trump administration claimed the U.S. Navy had started escorting oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz. The strait is a narrow passageway connecting the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. In 2025, 31% of all seaborne oil traveled through the strait, which has become a literal warzone after the U.S. and Israel started bombing Iran 10 days ago. Predictably, oil prices have spiked. Last week, U.S. crude prices jumped 35%, which is the most in trading history going back to 1983. On Tuesday’s All In, Hayes noted that Energy Secretary Chris Wright had floated the idea of putting U.S. naval vessels in the strait to ensure safe passage of tankers, which mostly carry the oil to other countries in Asia. “Early tankers probably will involve some direct protection by the U.S. military,” Wright said on Sunday.”But most important is to defang their ability to threaten these ships.” “Those ships are in range of Iranian missiles,” Hayes noted, referring to Iran’s close proximity to the strait. “And so this would mean commanding American service members in boats to risk their lives to escort ships, bringing tankers full of oil to God knows where. Another country? Like, should our troops die for lower oil prices? Quite literally, should they sacrifice their lives? Should they be maimed and killed and maybe drown in the ocean, or be incinerated so that some shipment from Aramco can go to India? You think so?” Hayes then read a now-deleted tweet by Wright, who wrote, “President Trump is maintaining stability of global energy during the military operations against Iran. The U.S. Navy successfully escorted an oil tanker through the Strait of Hormuz to ensure oil remains flowing to global markets.” The host then aired a clip of White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stating that the claim was false. “I know the post was taken down pretty quickly, and I can confirm that the U.S. Navy has not escorted a tanker or a vessel at this time, though of course that’s an option the president has said he will absolutely utilize if and when necessary at the appropriate time,” Leavitt told reporters. “Well, that’s a pretty big mistake!” Hayes exclaimed. “That’s pretty different! Escorting ships or not. Watch above via MS NOW.The post ‘That’s a Pretty Big Mistake!’ Chris Hayes Scolds Trump… [TheTopNews] Read More.

  • CNN Crew Takes Cover in Bomb Shelter During Live Hit in Tel Aviv Amid Sound of E...
CNN’s Erin Burnett and Jeremy Diamond were forced to take their segment on the move after missile sirens and “explosions” could be heard on Tuesday night in Tel Aviv. During a remote interview with retired Army Major Gen. Randy Manner, Burnett and Diamond were forced to take shelter, continuing their interview once they were indoors. CNN reported their crew heard “explosions.” “Alright, so Jeremy and I are, obviously we’re having trouble hearing because we have the sirens going on here as we are going to seek shelter,” Burnett said on the move. Also remotely part of the segment was CNN senior international correspondent Frederick Pleitgen, who had needed to flee during his own report in Iran as strikes occurred. One person on the ground said afterward they were thrown against a wall and buried under rubble during the strikes. “That just goes to show how fast things can turn bad here,” he said during his report. Both the U.S. and Israel have conducted recent strikes on Iran that have led to the deaths of several high-ranking government officials, including the government’s supreme leader. Iran has responded with their own strikes, one of which killed seven U.S. service members in Kuwait. “I don’t get the kind of warnings that you do, for instance, in Israel and, of course, also in other places in the Middle East. In fact, just a couple of minutes ago, before we went to air here, we were actually under pretty heavy bombardment. We heard jets overhead,” Pleitgen said on Tuesday evening. “All of a sudden, that noise became louder and then there were some pretty big thuds.” “More sirens coming in. So obviously quite intense here in terms of what we’ve experienced by far today,” Burnett said, continuing the coverage. • Whistleblower Alleges Former DOGE Employee Absconded With Americans’ Private I...
AP Photo/Jose Luis Magana A whistleblower complaint alleged that a former “Department of Government Efficiency” staffer claimed he planned to share sensitive agency databases with his private employer, according to a new report. DOGE was led by billionaire Elon Musk during his brief stint as a special government employee. The staffer named in the disclosure, reviewed by The Washington Post, was described as a former software engineer for DOGE who had approved access to Social Security data while working at the agency. He allegedly told co-workers at a government contractor that he had highly restricted information about U.S. citizens, including Social Security numbers. The staffer allegedly claimed to have access to the data through two databases called “Numident” and the “Master Death File,” one of which he had on a thumb drive. The Post noted in its report on the complaint that these claims “if true, would constitute an unprecedented breach of security protocols.” The databases contain records of more than 500 million living and dead Americans. The former DOGE member allegedly said he continued to hold unrestricted “God-level” security access, along with his agency credentials and computer, even long after leaving DOGE. He said he had more access to this data, which also included places and dates of birth, citizenship, race and ethnicity, and parents’ names, than any other company employee working with the Social Security Administration, according to the complaint. At least one of the events in which the former staffer spoke about his access to this information occurred in January, according to the complaint, which also states that the staffer told the whistleblower that he intended to use the data at the private company. According to the complaint, he allegedly told the whistleblower that he needed help transferring data from a thumb drive “to his personal computer so that he could ‘sanitize’ the data before using it at [the company.]” The engineer told colleagues that once he had removed personal details from the data, he wanted to upload it into the company’s systems. He told another colleague, who refused to help him upload the data because of legal concerns, that he expected to receive a presidential pardon if his actions were deemed to be illegal, according to the complaint. The former staffer also allegedly told the whistleblower he was permitted to have unrestricted access to to citizen’s Social Security information, though an SSA official familiar with the former… [TheTopNews] Read More.

  • Trump State Department Nominee Withdraws After Brutal Grilling in Confirmation H...
Jeremy Carl, President Donald Trump’s pick for a top State Department post, announced on Tuesday that he would be withdrawing his nomination, after a poor performance at his Senate confirmation hearing last month. Carl, a senior fellow at the conservative Claremont Institute, was nominated by the president to the post of Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs in June, where he would oversee relations with international organizations like the UN. In his withdrawal announcement on X, Carl cited an inability to secure a majority in the Senate, writing that Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s support was not enough to secure the nomination. “Unfortunately, for senior positions such as this one, the support of the President and Secretary of State is very important but not sufficient,” he wrote. “We also needed the unanimous support of every GOP Senator on the Committee on Foreign Relations, given the unanimous opposition of Senate Democrats to my candidacy, and unfortunately, at this time this unanimous support was not forthcoming.” Carl claimed that he accepted the “political reality” and did not wish “to have the President, Secretary Rubio, or the rest of his team waste valuable time and energy” attempting to change Congress’s mind. “Under our Constitutional system, that is the role that the Senate has in deciding Presidential appointments at this level and I accept that political reality, and do not wish to have the President, Secretary Rubio, or the rest of his team waste valuable time and energy attempting to change that decision,” wrote Carl. A former Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Interior in Trump’s first term, Carl has a history of controversial comments about race, women, and Jews. His decision to withdraw follows a tense Senate confirmation hearing in February, where his history of making incendiary statements about Jews and espousal of the anti-Semitic “great replacement theory” became a sticking point. During one crucial moment, Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) grilled Carl about his claims that white identity is being erased. The nominee sputtered through his answers, leading Murphy to post a clip of the exchange where he went so far as to call Carl “a legit white nationalist.” The hearing led Carl to lose at least one Republican vote, Sen. John Curtis (R-UT), who announced after the proceedings that he would not support Carl. “After reviewing his record and participating in today’s hearing, I do not believe that Jeremy… [TheTopNews] Read More.
