- Tom Cotton Furiously Ends Trump DNI Nominee’s Hearing As Democrats Ask For Mor...
Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR), the vice-chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, was fed up with both Democrats and protestors during the confirmation hearing of President Donald Trump’s nominee for director of national intelligence, Jay Clayton. Clayton, who currently serves as the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, received a tough grilling from Senate Democrats on the committee, including questions about Trump pardoning a drug kingpin he had proudly prosecuted and whether or not he believed Trump’s baseless claims that the 2020 presidential election was stolen. “Thank you, Mr. Clayton, for your testimony today,” began Cotton ending the day’s proceedings. “Mr. Chairman, do we have time for any follow-up questions?” asked a Democrat on the panel. “No!” snapped back Cotton. “They’re not in the second round. The Capitol Police will remove the annoying lunatic from the crowd,” Cotton added as a protestor could be heard saying, “Mr. Clayton is aiding Israel in laundering money for World Liberty Financial and the digital asset infrastructure, and committing—” The man could no longer be heard as he was taken out of the room. “I apologize to lunatics for comparing that guy to them. Mr. Clayton, thank you for your testimony today. As a reminder, we expect to have a vote next week. Members’ questions for the record are due today at 5:30. Mr. Clayton, I trust you can respond to those no later than 5:30 on Friday. This hearing is adjourned,” concluded a clearly displeased Cotton. She didn’t let it bug her. Reporter Rachel Menitoff kept her cool while reporting on the “extreme heat” during a Tuesday live shot for KTLA 5 in Los Angeles, even as a massive insect landed on her black dress and darted up the right side of her chest. The egg roll-sized bug paused on her collar bone for about a quarter second before appearing to race down and into her dress. But you wouldn’t have suspected a thing if you were only listening to the audio; Menitoff kept unflappably reporting on the hot temperatures in The Valley as the bug treated her like a tree in the jungle. The only hint Menitoff was uncomfortable was her eyes lighting up and getting pretty wide midway through her report. The anchors back in the studio were shocked at how composed Menitoff was. “Oh my gosh!” one of her colleagues yelped, while anchor Eric Spillman said, “I have to hand it to her, she was really calm… that’s like a flying cockroach.” Menitoff could only remain calm for so long, though. KTLA then showed the behind-the-scenes footage of Menitoff frantically swiping her arms and body after her live shot was finished. Which was understandable, since she had a huge insect roaming around her body. Menitoff later talked to the station’s website about keeping her game face on, despite the circumstances. “I knew it was on me,” she said. “But I knew if I took notice of it, I wouldn’t be able to continue on with the report. So I said to myself, just get through this moment and then kind of shake it off.” The KTLA morning show got a good chuckle out of it as well on Wednesday. .@FrankBuckleyTV, @JessicaHolmesTV and @henrydicarlo react to @RachelMenitoff's calmness during the cockroach interruption. https://t.co/0v67JAkSL9 pic.twitter.com/oLgQOnO4JZ — KTLA 5 Morning News (@KTLAMorningNews) July 15, 2026 “Wow! Gross!” co-host Jessica Holmes said. Co-host Frank Buckley then did his best serious-sounding reporter voice and joshed, “Something’s crawling on me but I’m not going to acknowledge it.” Watch above. The post WATCH: Reporter Somehow Holds It Together During Live Shot as a Giant Insect Crawls On Her Chest first appeared on Mediaite. JD Vance told Joe Rogan a Texas law forcing public schools to display the Ten Commandments isn’t about pushing Christianity on kids. The vice president engaged in a lengthy back and forth with the podcast host on his show, the Joe Rogan Experience, for a sit down that dropped Wednesday and included a range of topics, including how President Donald Trump‘s administration handled the Jeffrey Epstein files. Rogan brought up recent podcast guest Texas Senate candidate James Talarico (D), who is facing off against state Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) in a surprisingly competitive race. “One of the things that I think he has a really good point about, even though I know you’re Catholic and you’re very religious, putting the Ten Commandments in schools, I don’t think is the right way to do,” Rogan noting Talarico “is very Christian.” “He just thinks that even though he believes in the Ten Commandments, if you’re just only representing the Christian faith in these schools, you’re forcing your religion into other people’s lives and that this is going to push people away from Christianity rather than encourage them to uh pursue it,” he added. Vance disagreed: JD VANCE: I don’t think putting the Ten Commandments up in school is like forcing things on anybody. JOE ROGAN: But it’s public schools. So I mean, if you’re going to do that, why not put Buddhist scripture? Why not put, you know, you Muslim’s stuff? You could make an argument why you should have a bunch of different religious tenants in schools. VANCE: I think in the Supreme Court there actually are a lot of different sort of historical, cultural, legal documents that are up there. And I want to say that Moses coming down with a tablet is one of them. But I think there actually are other cultural and maybe even other religious elements of this like, where you recognize that a big part of sort of the lawgiving tradition in Western civilization is the is some of these religious texts, not exclusively Christian religious texts. Obviously some Jewish there’s like a an important contribution from the Muslim world in this. So I don’t, I guess, I don’t think of it as exclusionary while also recognizing that, you know, America is a society. Our founders were people who were very much influenced even if they weren’t Christians, a lot of them of course were,… [TheTopNews] Read More.19 hours ago - Bernie Sanders Goes to Bat For Thomas Massie’s Defund Israel Bill In Scathing ...
Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions ranking member Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., speaks during a hearing to examine reviewing recent events at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and implications for children’s health on Capitol Hill, in Washington, Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025. (AP Photo/Jose Luis Magana) Sen. Bernie Sanders announced Wednesday he was supporting Rep. Thomas Massie’s (R-KY) bill to completely cut the U.S.’s military aid to Israel. In a lengthy tweet criticizing Israel’s military operations across the Middle East, Sanders accusing the country of committing a genocide in Gaza and called its war against Iran “reckless and illegal.” The tweet read: Israel, like any other country, had the right to defend itself against the horrific terrorist attack by Hamas on October 7, 2023, which killed 1,200 innocent people. But it did not have the right to go to war against the entire Palestinian population. It did not have the right to kill more than 73,000 Palestinians and wound over 173,000 more — the vast majority of them women, children and the elderly. It did not have the right to destroy virtually the entire infrastructure of Gaza — the schools, the health facilities, the water systems, wastewater plants, the electric grid that a civilian population depends on to survive. It did not have the right to destroy or damage 92% of all housing units in Gaza. In other words, Israel did not have the right to commit genocide. And it did not have the right to escalate its violence and annexation of the West Bank while the world’s attention was focused elsewhere. Tragically, almost five months ago, Israel, with strong support from the Trump administration, launched a reckless and illegal war against Iran — a war that has killed thousands of people and left an already unstable region of the world even more unstable. That war expanded into Lebanon, where Israeli strikes have now killed more than 4,000 people and displaced some 20% of the entire Lebanese population. That is not “defending Israel”. These are regional wars of expansion and terror, waged without a clear strategy, and without an end in sight. THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE CLEAR: NO MORE U.S. AID TO ISRAEL Today, the U.S. House of Representatives will vote on an amendment introduced by Rep. Thomas Massie to cut the $3.3 billion in annual U.S. military aid to Israel. I strongly support this… [TheTopNews] Read More.19 hours ago - Inovonics Delivers 55 Mod Monitors to AIR

Sound engineer Marko Kaminsky during production From our “Who’s Buying What” page: In Munich, Germany, public broadcaster Bayerischer Rundfunk, or BR, has deployed a SMPTE ST 2110-based radio Outside Broadcasting van with Lawo’s audio technology. BR operates five radio networks. Its BR Klassik network features classical music and live opera, of which the van, known as Ü5, is used for remote broadcasts. Inside the revamped van is a 48-fader Lawo mc²56 MkIII production console, used in its audio control room. The HOME mc² DSP App handles its audio processing through a server. Lawo’s Power Core gateways handle onboard and stagebox I/O. The van includes three primary workstations: the main audio engineer’s position at the mc²56 MkIII, a second position for the balance engineer and a technical and recording workstation. A crystal controller is installed at the recording position, allowing control functions to be assigned from the main console, a release said. Recording position with crystal controller Audio and video signals are transported across BR’s IP network using SMPTE ST 2110 and AES67 standards. The truck was originally built in 2007 and its chassis and body were retained, Lawo said. But the technical infrastructure inside the vehicle was built from the ground up. The project was conceived in 2022. Ü5’s first production assignment took place in January with the recording of a chamber music concert for BR Klassik, while in February, the vehicle handled transmission operations for a live opera broadcast from the Bavarian State Opera. mc²56 Audio Production Console plus Tonmeister position Audio mixing was performed in the venue’s permanently installed control room and handed off to Ü5 for transmission. From there, the vehicle managed the broadcast chain, including pre-show and intermission programming, Lawo said. The vehicle has also been used for jazz production.
