Fox Business anchor Stuart Varney asked Trump Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer to comment on the February jobs numbers out on Friday, noting “it doesn’t look good for the Trump economy.” “Madam Secretary, 92,000 jobs out in February. Fewer jobs in healthcare, fewer jobs for information services because of AI, the weather hurt things, government employment down. If you add it all up, it doesn’t look good for the Trump economy,” began Varney. “Yeah, I couldn’t agree with you. I think we have to address the fact that this is not a good report in its raw numbers, but we have also talk about why this possibly has happened, this snapshot in time. It was mentioned, the weather. We saw health care numbers go down,” replied Chavez-DeRemer, adding: We saw a record strike in California, over 30,000 jobs lost there, but that has been resolved, so we’re hoping to see those numbers tick back up next month. But overall, we’ve gained 60,000 new jobs over the last two months, so this is important for us to recognize what the message is here, what the noise is, and how focused the Labor Department is in making sure that we can bring back those jobs in construction, manufacturing. We’re seeing the confidence go up. We’ve seen the investments that the president has made. I’ve said it over and over again. The president and I talk. We visit on this often. It’s important to him. We’re laser focused to make sure that we have that skilled workforce. And it’s just gonna take some time. So we’re recognizing what happened this month and we’re gonna stay laser focused to bring those jobs numbers up. But when you think about it, look at the real wages. That’s exciting for us that we’ve seen real wages go up as well. Kennedy Jr. in a Friday New York Times column, writing, “I have never used cocaine in my life.” Love Story, the Ryan Murphy-led miniseries, follows the story of JFK Jr., Hannah, and Carolyn Bessette, Kennedy Jr.’s wife, who died alongside him in a famed 1999 plane crash off Martha’s Vineyard. In her column, Hannah wrote the following about her character in the “tragedy-exploiting” show: “The choice to portray her as irritating, self-absorbed, whiny and inappropriate was no accident.” The Splash and Kill Bill actress argued the series deliberately casts her as a narrative antagonist in order to heighten the romance between Kennedy and Bessette, emphasizing that the character bearing her name engages in behavior she insists never happened in real life. “I have never used cocaine in my life or hosted cocaine-fueled parties,” she wrote. “I have never pressured anyone into marriage. I have never desecrated any family heirloom or intruded upon anyone’s private memorial.” “These are not creative embellishments of personality,” Hannah added. “They are assertions about conduct — and they are false.” Hannah also opened her column by recalling advice she once received from former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis about dealing with tabloid coverage: “She told me that while tabloids, magazines, and newspapers often sold ridiculous lies, they were nothing more than bird cage liner by the next day.” But, Hannah argued, the modern media landscape has changed that dynamic. “In the digital age, stories do not disappear,” she wrote. “A dramatized portrayal can become, for millions of viewers, the definitive version of a real person’s life.” The actress said the series’s portrayal has already had real-world consequences, revealing she has received “hostile and even threatening messages” from viewers who believe the depiction to be factual. Former President John F. Kennedy’s grandson, Jack Schlossberg, who’s currently running for Congress in New York, gave his two cents on the show during a CBS interview last weekend, ripping the series as “a grotesque display of someone else’s life.”The post Daryl Hannah Blasts JFK Jr Series Portrayal: ‘I Have Never Used Cocaine in My Life’ first appeared on Mediaite. Trump White House National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett insisted “the economy is really strong” after CNBC anchor Carl Quintanilla asked him about a February jobs report that showed unexpected losses and a sharp drop in the workforce on Friday. Experts were expecting an increase of around 50,000 jobs ahead of the Employment Situation report for last month. But on Friday morning, the report showed 92,000 jobs lost and 69,000 more in downward revisions, and a workforce participation number that shocked CNBC anchor Rick Santelli. On Friday morning’s edition of CNBC’s Squawk on the Street, Quintanilla remarked to co-host Jim Cramer that the workforce number “unwinds, like, several years worth of gains” and Cramer exclaimed “My kingdom for an asterisk!” Several minutes later, Quintanilla asked Hassett about the report, and whether there are “enough asterisks, in Jim’s words, to make this number make more sense?”: CNBC ANCHOR CARL QUINTANILLA: Are there enough asterisks, in Jim’s words, to make this number make more sense? NATIONAL ECONOMIC COUNCIL DIRECTOR KEVIN HASSETT: Well, I think Jim’s right that there have been so many strong indicators this month that it’s something of a surprise. But there’s some weather, there are strikes on the West Coast, and I think that we also have this birth-death model, the change in the procedure at the BLS. And so I think what we need to start doing with these jobs numbers, at least on the payroll side, is take the average over a few months, and if you take the average over a few months we had a surprisingly positive one last month and a surprisingly negative one this one. But on average. It’s about what we expect to be seeing because immigration has gone down by so much that break-even employment is probably in the sort of 30 or 40,000 jobs a month range. And so, yeah, I think it’s consistent with everything else we’re seeing, which is that the economy is really strong! With revisions, the average job growth for the past three months is 5,667 jobs created, with a total of 17,000 net jobs created. The Trump White House has expanded the timeline for its military action in Iran, also known as Operation Epic Fury. During a White House press gaggle Friday, press secretary Karoline Leavitt said she wouldn’t “get ahead of the president on broadcasting any timelines,” before adding a week to Trump’s past projection. On Monday, Trump said, “We projected four to five weeks. But we have capability to go far longer than that.” “What I will tell you is what the president has already laid out,” Leavitt said Friday. “The achievable objectives of Operation Epic Fury we expect to last 4 to 6 weeks and are well on our way to achieving those objectives.” Leavitt then laid out the objectives and where they stood: Annihilating Iran’s navy — we have sunk more than 30 vessels and ships. Their navy is now deemed combat ineffective. Taking out the ballistic missile threat that Iran posed to the United States and our troops and bases in the region — we have done a tremendous job, the United States military has done a tremendous job at achieving that objective, thus far. Just six days in, the retaliatory ballistic missile strikes from Iran are now down 90%. Of course, ensuring Iran can never obtain a nuclear weapon, as well, and significantly weakening their proxies in the region, which we know are responsible for the deaths of Americans, and we’ve seen Hezbollah and the Houthis hardly putting up a fight over the course of the last six days. “Ultimately, the president made it very clear: He wants to take out the threat of Iran to the United States and Operation Epic Fury is well on the way to doing that,” Leavitt said before adding that Trump “wants to take an interest in pursuing who the next leader of the Iranian country is going to be, and that has yet to be seen, and the president is discussing it and deliberating it.” Watch the clip above via C-SPAN.The post Trump White House Gives Update on Timeline for How Long Iran Operation Is Expected to Last first appeared on Mediaite. During a Friday appearance on Fox News, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt slammed the 53 House Democrats who voted not to reaffirm Iran as “the largest state sponsor of terrorism,” calling them “debilitated in their derangement.” Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL) introduced the resolution on Thursday. It argued that Iran “remains the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism and provides substantial financial and military support to groups including Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis,” adding that the country “poses a direct and persistent threat to the United States.” The resolution passed by a 372-53 vote, with all negative votes cast by Democrats. Fox’s John Roberts asked Leavitt about the vote on Friday, pointing out that “when a similar vote was taken three years ago, the vote was 420 to 1.” “This is not just a long-standing bipartisan policy of the United States, but nearly every single country on the planet — especially Western countries — have agreed with this basic premise,” said Leavitt. “Now, in 2026, you have Democrats on Capitol Hill who have been so debilitated by their derangement and their hatred for the man in the Oval Office right now that they cannot even condemn the world’s leading state sponsor of terror. Why? Because they are trying desperately to try to undermine President [Donald] Trump’s essential action that he took to protect the United States of America,” she went on. She concluded by emphasizing that “countries around the world, the NATO Secretary General, even our partners in the Gulf” have commended Trump for his actions, adding that these 53 Democrats “have lost their minds.” Rep. Lateefah Simon (D-CA) explained her negative vote via Facebook on Thursday, writing that the resolution is “designed to justify the President’s actions in Iran” and that “Republicans in Congress are not only surrendering their constitutional duties – they are also playing politics with a resolution reaffirming Iran as a leading state sponsor of terrorism,” which is “already U.S. policy.” Watch the clip above via Fox News. The post Karoline Leavitt Slams Dems for Voting Against Declaring Iran a State Sponsor of Terror: ‘Debilitated in Their Derangement’ first appeared on Mediaite. Fox News anchor John Roberts pressed White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on Friday about reports that Russia is feeding Iran intelligence to target U.S. troops in the Middle East Roberts opened the interview by saying that Fox News had confirmed an earlier Washington Post exclusive that Russia is providing Iran with intelligence information to help the regime target U.S. forces. He then asked Leavitt if President Donald Trump had spoken to Russian strongman Vladimir Putin about it. In response, Leavitt said that she would leave the question to Trump himself to answer, and “we don’t comment on intelligence reports that are leaked to the press.” But she went on: “Whether or not this happened, frankly, it does not really matter because President Trump and the United States military are absolutely decimating the rogue Iranian terrorist regime. We are now on Day 6 of Operation Epic Fury. The United States military has impressively established dominance and air superiority over the skies of Iran.” Read the conversation below: JOHN ROBERTS: All right, now it’s time for our own private White House briefing with the press secretary, Karoline Leavitt. Karoline, thanks for being with us this Friday afternoon, appreciate your time. KAROLINE LEAVITT: Thanks for having me. ROBERTS: I wanted to start you off this afternoon because we have confirmed reports from U.S. officials that Russia is providing intelligence to Iran to help it target U.S. assets in the region. I’m sure this is something that does not please the president whatsoever. Has he spoken to Putin about it? LEAVITT: Well, look, I’ll leave that to the president to answer himself. But what I will tell you, John, we don’t comment on intelligence reports that are leaked to the press. Whether or not this happened, frankly, it does not really matter because President Trump and the United States military are absolutely decimating the rogue Iranian terrorist regime. We are now on Day 6 of Operation Epic Fury. The United States military has impressively established dominance and air superiority over the skies of Iran. We have sunk and destroyed more than 30 of their Navy ships. And of course, the goals of this operation have been laid out and very clear. Completely annihilate Iran’s Navy, which again we are well on our way to doing. Their Navy has now been deemed combat ineffective. Secondly, take out their ballistic missile weaponry arsenal… [TheTopNews] Read More.12 hours ago
