One of the unofficial traditions of La Crosse’s Oktoberfest is the slicing of the golden brat. The thing is 8 feet long, 80 pounds. And one time, a couple of guys stole it off the grill Spoiler alert, they didn’t get very far. Last year’s Festmaster, Mike Bakalars, joined The Rick Solem show recently and told the story — including just how they cook an 8-foot, 80-pound brat.
