Greg Derr/The Patriot Ledger via AP, Pool True crime influencer Shawna Gramkow, who has a following of more than 50,000 people, has been slapped with federal wire tapping charges after secretly recording the father of Patrick Clancy and posting the audio on social media. Gramkow was charged on October 20 in relation to a September 4 phone call with Chris Clancy. Per Fox News, on August 30 Gramkow posted a video on Instagram that featured a phone call between an unidentified person making a phone call to a number she claimed belong to Patrick. The phone number was the same one that Lindsay Clancy’s attorney Kevin Reddington read aloud during her criminal trial. She said in the video, “So, you guys voted and Patrick said yes. So, at the trial Kevin Reddington released Patrick’s phone number and one of y’all decided to give him a call. Now on this particular call, Patrick’s dad was still on the line, he was kind of mumbling still on the phone, I guess he didn’t know that the phone was still going.” Fox News reported that “an adult male can be heard speaking” in the video, but it is difficult “to make out what was being said.” Chris called authorities to report the video and “told police he believed the voice was his and came from a phone call he received on Aug. 6.” Fox also reported, “Christopher Clancy said he accidentally answered the call, which came from an unfamiliar number, instead of declining it. Police allege someone recorded the conversation without his consent, saying he was talking about his oldest son Brian.” Per the complaint shared by the network, “Mr. Clancy recalls while driving in the Town of Scituate sometime around August 6th, 2026 he received a phone call from a telephone number he did not recognize. Instead of declining the incoming call; he believes he accidently answered, creating an open line of communication for the unknown calling party who proceeded to record Mr. Clancy’s comments without his knowledge or consent.
